Open Yapp

FRIENDLY BANTER. FRIENDLY CHALLENGES.

Settle the result. Keep the friendship.

Understand the current result-review rules before your crew makes its first call.

Voting close and settlement are different

The voting deadline locks choices. The settlement time is when participants can begin proposing a result. A locked Yapp may therefore be waiting for the event, not broken. Agree on clear evidence and the meaning of each answer before participation starts.

Who can propose the result?

Once settlement time arrives, an active Room member who made an active call in that Yapp can propose one of its choices as the result. It is not restricted to the creator. If there are no other active participants, the proposal is confirmed without a separate review vote.

Who can confirm or dispute?

Other active participants in the Room can confirm or dispute the proposal; the proposer does not vote on their own proposal. Each review vote is final for that proposal. Do not cast a vote merely to see what happens. Room members who never participated are not eligible reviewers.

The 48-hour review window

A proposal with other participants starts a 48-hour review. A strict majority of all eligible reviewers can confirm it early or reject it early. For four eligible reviewers, the early threshold is three votes. If every eligible reviewer votes and the counts tie, the Yapp cancels and active allocations are refunded.

What happens when the review expires?

The server compares votes actually cast: more confirmations approves the proposal; more disputes rejects it and returns the Yapp to the locked state for a fresh proposal. Equal counts, including zero confirmations and zero disputes, cancel it with refunds. For example, one confirmation and no disputes at expiry approves it even if that was not enough for an early majority.

After a rejected proposal

The previous proposal and its review votes are cleared. A fresh 48-hour no-proposal window begins from rejection. A new valid proposal starts its own review window. This is a new proposal cycle; it does not unlock the original prediction choices.

If nobody proposes a result

After a 48-hour no-proposal window, the current fallback chooses the option with the highest number of active calls, not the greatest coin allocation. A unique leader becomes the winning option; a top-count tie or no participants cancels and refunds. Initially this window starts at settlement time; after rejection it starts at the new cycle time. This fallback is a group-choice rule, not independent verification of the real-world outcome.

Processing and support

Automatic deadlines are handled by server processing, so the visible status may update after the deadline rather than instantly. If your group sees an incorrect or stuck outcome, email [email protected] with the Yapp identifier and a concise explanation. Do not post private account details or use harassment to settle a disagreement.
