FRIENDLY BANTER. FRIENDLY CHALLENGES.
Your calls. Your coins. Your bragging rights.
A practical guide to Yapp points. No cash value, deposits or financial returns.
Getting started with Yapp Coins
The current onboarding rules allocate 100 welcome coins when a new account completes onboarding. You can claim 10 more coins once per India calendar day using the reward control in the app. This is a member-initiated claim, not an automatic payment. Repeated taps do not grant a second reward that day.
Making or updating a call
The current minimum allocation is 10 coins. You need enough available coins, active Room membership and an open Yapp. Allocated coins leave your available balance. Before voting closes, updating a call refunds its earlier allocation and applies the new one; it does not charge both allocations permanently. Calls lock at the deadline.
How a confirmed result distributes coins
The active allocations form a pool. Participants on the winning choice share that pool in proportion to the coins each allocated to that choice. The credited amount includes their original allocation; it is not all profit. A non-winning choice receives no settlement credit. All values are in-app points, not money.
A simple worked example
Asha allocates 20 coins to YES, Dev allocates 10 to YES and Noor allocates 30 to NO. The pool is 60 and YES has 30 allocated coins. If YES is confirmed, Asha receives 40 coins and Dev receives 20; their net gains are 20 and 10. Noor receives no settlement credit and has a net change of minus 30. Rounding is unnecessary in this example.
Rounding and refunds
Whole-coin shares are rounded down first. Any remaining coins are assigned one each to winners in a stable server-defined order, so the pool is fully distributed. Cancelled Yapps refund active allocations. The settlement engine also refunds when there is no pool or no allocation on the confirmed winning choice. Credits appear when server processing completes, not necessarily at the exact moment the result changes.
Room standings are based on win rate
Room win rate is wins divided by completed calls, multiplied by 100 and rounded to a whole percentage. Only resolved or settled Yapps with a winning choice count; cancelled/refunded positions do not. With no completed calls, the displayed rate is zero. Equal rounded rates share a rank. The display can order tied members by wins and completed calls without changing that shared rank.
Reading the numbers fairly
Three wins from four completed calls gives 75%. One win from one gives 100%, but uses a much smaller sample. The current ranking has no minimum-call threshold, so read the completed-call count alongside the rate. Coin balance and win rate measure different things.
Check your coin history
Use the account coin-history screen to review rewards, allocations, updates, refunds and result credits. For an unexpected entry, email [email protected] with the approximate time and Yapp identifier. Never send passwords, OTPs or private invitation tokens.
